Programme Analyst – Disaster Risk Reduction

About the role

The Programme Analyst – Disaster Risk Reduction will support the implementation of UNDP‑UNDRR Resilience Building Partnership activities in North Macedonia. Working under the Head of Democratic Governance and Green, the role focuses on urban resilience, local DRR strategies, financing and risk‑informed investments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate substantive implementation of DRR project activities, including resilience assessments and local strategy development in selected municipalities.
• Analyse DRR policy, institutional and development contexts to provide inputs for project planning, monitoring and reporting.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of activities, applying results‑based management tools and tracking project outputs, indicators and milestones.
• Facilitate coordination between national and local authorities, UNDRR, civil society, private sector and other stakeholders to ensure aligned implementation.
• Support DRR financing through budget reviews, budget tagging, identification of financing gaps and development of bankable, risk‑informed investment proposals.
• Prepare and aggregate activity, output and outcome reports for donors and corporate reporting.

Required skills

• Experience with MCR2030 tools, scorecards and resilience assessments.
• Knowledge of DRR budgeting, budget tagging and financing gap analysis.
• Ability to apply risk‑informed investment approaches and support development of bankable projects.
