Sr. Shopify Hydrogen Full Stack Developer

About the role

We are a US‑based e‑commerce retailer looking for a senior full‑stack developer who specializes in Shopify Hydrogen. The role is fully remote, serving East Coast business hours, and focuses on building and maintaining custom headless storefronts that integrate with our existing Django monolith, Algolia search, and Storyblok CMS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify Hydrogen storefronts using React Router and modern React practices.
• Implement responsive UI components with HTML, CSS, and ensure optimal frontend performance.
• Manage migrations from legacy Shopify Liquid and Django‑based frontends to Hydrogen while preserving data integrity.
• Extend and maintain Python/Django code that powers GraphQL API integrations between Shopify and internal ERP/PIM/CRM systems.
• Build custom middleware and integrations for features that standard Shopify does not support (e.g., feed syndication, Algolia re‑indexing).
• Configure and automate CI/CD pipelines, manage deployments to Oxygen or similar edge platforms, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Translate ambiguous business requests into technical solutions, escalating architectural discussions when needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building custom e‑commerce storefronts with Shopify Hydrogen.
• Strong background in full‑stack development, comfortable working with both JavaScript (React) and Python/Django.
• Proven ability to work remotely and align with East Coast (9‑5) working hours.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to communicate technical constraints to non‑technical stakeholders.
