Design Engineer

About the role

The Design Engineer will improve engineering process capability to meet growing customer requirements. You will create 3D and 2D designs for parts and assemblies, manage bills of material, and support cost‑optimization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D and 2D models of components and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD in line with Wabtec standards.
• Prepare and update Bills of Material.
• Execute "design to cost" activities to optimise product cost.
• Provide technical support to other departments during first‑part assembly and validation phases.
• Prepare type‑test programs and validate designs.
• Manage product change requests (ECR) and perform tolerance, dimension and structural analyses.
• Analyse test results and modify designs as required.
• Oversee manufacturing processes for the device.
• Collaborate with internal and external professionals and consult clients on railway vehicle equipment requirements.
• Participate in APQP activities and travel when necessary to support field experts or explore new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Mechanical or Machine Engineering degree.
• Fluent in Macedonian and English (both mandatory).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
