SQL Server Database Administrator

About the role

Stopanska Banka is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to manage and optimise its database environment that supports Windows Server‑based .NET services and integration layers. The role ensures high availability, performance and data integrity across a growing portfolio of applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and tune MS SQL Server instances supporting core applications, integration services and reporting.
• Implement backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery procedures and take part in DR testing.
• Manage database security, access controls and audit logging in line with NBRM regulatory requirements.
• Performance‑tune queries, indexes, stored procedures and execution plans for high‑transaction‑volume systems.
• Provide DB‑side troubleshooting for Windows Server/IIS‑hosted .NET applications and background services.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on capacity planning, HA/failover clustering and incident response.
• Maintain patching, version upgrades and change‑management processes for SQL Server environments.
• Support data flows into downstream reporting and data platforms.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on MS SQL Server administration (2019/2022).
• Strong T‑SQL performance‑tuning and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with SQL Server backup/recovery, Always On Availability Groups or failover clustering.
• Solid Windows Server administration background (Server 2019/2022/2025).
• Familiarity with banking/financial‑services regulatory and security requirements.
• PowerShell scripting experience for automation.
• Nice‑to‑have: experience supporting .NET/ASP.NET Core applications on IIS, exposure to event‑driven integration or API‑gateway environments, and relevant Microsoft certifications.
