Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to support commercial decision‑making and sustainable growth. You will work with global commercial teams, providing financial insight, building analytical tools and ensuring robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance and enhancement of Power BI and Excel‑based commercial finance models, including profitability and working‑capital tools.
• Own global reporting solutions such as contribution‑margin reporting, delivering insights on customer, product and programme profitability.
• Manage and continuously improve the Global Quote Finance Model to support pricing, quoting and long‑term business decisions.
• Develop and maintain inflation and cost‑impact models that inform commercial negotiations and pricing strategies.
• Act as finance partner to global commercial teams, translating complex financial data into practical business insight.
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance and accurate tracking of commercial incentives across regions and customer programmes.

Required profile

• Advanced Power BI modelling skills with experience building and maintaining business‑critical reporting solutions.
• Advanced Excel modelling expertise, including complex financial models, scenario analysis and process automation.
• Experience developing, maintaining and supporting finance tools and reports used by multiple global stakeholders.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
• Strong financial analysis, commercial acumen and the ability to influence business decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and geographies.
