Engineering Manager, DevEx

About the role

Slice is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its DevEx team, responsible for the internal developer platform, GitOps workflows, Kubernetes infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on improving reliability, security and operational excellence while enabling engineers across the company to be more productive.

Key responsibilities

• Own developer and business outcomes by partnering with engineering leadership to identify friction and platform opportunities.
• Guide architecture and technical strategy for the internal developer platform, deployment workflows and cloud infrastructure.
• Build a high‑performing team, providing clear decision boundaries, ownership and an automation‑first mindset.
• Raise execution standards by standardizing workflows, improving observability and embedding operational excellence.
• Hire, coach and retain platform engineers, delivering regular feedback and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the US, Canada, UK and Europe to drive platform adoption.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high‑performing platform engineering teams.
• Strong project planning and roadmap creation skills.
• Track record of improving developer experience, deployment reliability and engineering effectiveness.
• Platform mindset focused on reusable systems, self‑service tooling and scalable guardrails.
• Clear, direct communication with both technical and product stakeholders.
