Expert Operational Safety

About the role

Actively contribute to the design and continuous improvement of workplaces, work processes, and the working environment, with a strong focus on occupational safety and health. Lead and support the development and implementation of new work procedures and workflows, ensuring compliance with occupational safety, health, and accident‑prevention regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety‑related inspections and tests of operating systems, technical equipment, work processes and safety installations such as sprinkler, extraction and fire‑extinguishing systems.
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements (occupational safety, accident prevention, equipment safety, chemicals legislation) into practical operational measures and ensure compliance through audits, inspections and site reviews.
• Perform accident, incident and damage investigations, analyse root causes and compile statistics and reports.
• Develop and manage documentation, evaluation and reporting of work accidents, including recommendations and action plans.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by organising internal awareness campaigns, trainings, workshops and supporting safety officers.
• Prepare and conduct internal audits as part of the occupational safety management system.
• Collaborate with HR, the company physician and the works council on all occupational safety matters.
• Act as main contact for external authorities (labor inspectorates, fire authorities, professional associations) and participate in inspections and audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• In‑depth expertise in occupational safety and health, workplace design, risk analysis and accident prevention.
• Hands‑on experience with an Occupational Health & Safety Management System aligned with ISO 45001 (at least 2 years).
• Proven experience planning, organising and conducting internal and external audits.
• Confident user of standard IT tools (MS Office) and experience with operational safety management software.
• Very good written and spoken foreign‑language skills.
