Mid-Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

instX is a European cybersecurity and platform engineering company seeking a Mid‑Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain server‑side systems, APIs, and distributed services that power secure platforms. The role focuses on TypeScript, NestJS, performance, reliability, security, and clean architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js, preferably with NestJS.
• Build cloud‑native, high‑availability services and evolve microservices and event‑driven systems.
• Design robust database models, optimize queries, and ensure application performance.
• Collaborate with frontend, platform, and security engineers to deliver production‑grade code.
• Participate in code reviews, define backend architecture standards, and improve observability.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and own features from design to deployment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily backend.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience designing and building production APIs and services.
• Solid understanding of server‑side architecture, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
