Process Engineer (Junior) - Syringes, Vials and Cartridges

About the role

Gerresheimer, a global partner for pharmaceutical primary packaging and drug delivery systems, is looking for a Junior Process Engineer to support process optimization and improvement in the production of syringes, vials and cartridges. The role works closely with senior engineers, production departments and other functions, and offers a chance to start and develop a career in a highly regulated, innovative production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support process optimization and improvement activities, including analysis of process rejects, machine downtimes and product defects, and identification of root causes and improvement measures
• Take part in equipment sampling, testing and data collection, and in tests aimed at cycle time reduction, function improvement and quality optimization
• Help prepare FMEA, test plans, reports and technical documentation, and support change control, investment and industrialization projects
• Support commissioning and qualification of equipment and processes, and contribute to product development and process validation
• Prepare technical documents such as work instructions, technical notes and training materials, and support complaint handling and root cause analysis
• Provide technical support to production teams and take part in continuous improvement initiatives (CIP, scrap reduction)

Required profile

• Technical university degree (e.g. Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology or similar)
• First experience through an internship or 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
• Good knowledge of English (minimum B2)
• Team-oriented, motivated to learn and develop, with a structured and conscientious way of working

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and process optimization
• Understanding of technical and production systems; interest in GMP environments (pharma, medical devices, glass industry) is an advantage
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of statistics or Six Sigma is a plus; good IT skills and digital affinity
