Field Quality Control Engineer

About the role

The Field Quality Control Engineer will lead QA/QC activities on the North Macedonia Motorway Project, ensuring that all construction work meets Bechtel’s rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate QA/QC Inspectors, monitor contractor performance, and manage inspection schedules and quality records.
• Develop, review, and improve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), subcontractor QC plans, and third‑party inspection procedures.
• Prepare QC/inspection reports, handle non‑conformance reports, and lead corrective actions.
• Coordinate quality issues with the Project Manager and Site Construction Manager and conduct training for QC personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 8‑10 years of relevant construction quality experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills; ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience on large‑scale civil infrastructure projects and familiarity with regulatory and ES&H guidelines.

Required skills

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification (required).
• Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt) or Certified Quality Engineer (advantage).
• Extensive knowledge of construction drawings, material specifications, and non‑destructive testing methods.
• Experience with QA/QC documentation, NCR handling, and quality audit processes.
