Fullstack Software Engineer (Email Security & Anti-Abuse)

About the role

Proton is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join its MSA team, which tackles email delivery, spam, abuse, and account security across the Proton ecosystem. You will work on high‑impact systems that protect millions of users and help launch new products such as Wallet, Lumo AI, and Meet.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend and frontend services for email security and anti‑abuse.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to develop user‑facing features.
• Lead planning and development processes, potentially acting as product or project manager.
• Ensure operational excellence and seamless integration with other Proton systems.
• Contribute to custom MSA systems (Python) and core Proton APIs (PHP, React, iOS/Android).

Required profile

• Strong systems‑thinking mindset with a passion for privacy‑focused products.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑moving, startup‑like environment.
• Humility, mission‑driven attitude, and willingness to take ownership of full product cycles.

Required skills

• Backend development with Python, PHP, or Go.
• Frontend development with JavaScript, React, Typescript, or jQuery.
• Experience building complex production systems.
