Intermediate DevOps Engineer (Macedonia)

About the role

An employer based in Macedonia is looking for an intermediate DevOps engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, takes ownership of their work and wants to improve how infrastructure is built, managed and delivered. The role involves working with experienced engineers, developers and architects to build reliable, secure and scalable cloud solutions for international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure and/or AWS.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management with Terraform and Terragrunt, creating reusable configurations and components.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, including AKS and EKS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines or Jenkins.
• Implement GitOps workflows with Argo CD or Flux.
• Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues and improve reliability with monitoring and logging tools.
• Apply cloud security best practices, manage access and secrets, and help optimise performance, scalability and cost.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to improve delivery processes and promote DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS; Azure experience is an advantage.
• Practical experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code; Terragrunt is an advantage.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, ideally including Helm and AKS or EKS.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with at least one platform.
• Understanding of GitOps and practical experience with Argo CD or Flux.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, secrets management and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to use Bash, Python or PowerShell to automate tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills, automation-first mindset and effective collaboration.

Nice to have

• Azure, AWS or Kubernetes certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, AWS, CKA).
• Familiarity with cloud databases, messaging and streaming platforms or Platform Engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and FinOps.
