Maintenance Mechanical Engineer – Tool Shop

About the role

Gerresheimer is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer for its Tool Shop to ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of tools, molds, and related equipment. You will support uninterrupted production by applying preventive and corrective maintenance strategies in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for tooling and shop equipment.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for molds, tools, and mechanical systems.
• Analyse equipment failures, identify root causes and execute sustainable corrective actions.
• Maintain standard maintenance procedures, documentation and records.
• Coordinate repairs, overhauls and modifications of production tools and molds.
• Monitor tooling performance, recommend reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Support Kaizen initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity and cost optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, GMP, quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with tooling, molds or plastics processing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team‑oriented, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
