Middle Data Engineer

About the role

Avenga is looking for a Mid‑level Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and backend applications. You will work with a global team of specialists, applying best practices in cloud architecture, CI/CD, and data governance to support diverse business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in architecture discussions, performance tuning, and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Design and implement data pipelines and ETL/ELT jobs using Python and SQL.
• Build and maintain data infrastructure (storage, compute, orchestration) with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Deploy and monitor cloud‑native services on AWS, Azure, or GCP (e.g., S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Apply CI/CD, testing, observability, and data‑governance best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of production‑level experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong Python development skills and solid SQL expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, containerization, and orchestration.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities in English.
