Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Valtech is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to bridge development and operations, ensuring reliable, fast delivery of digital solutions for its global clients. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, driving observability, incident management and automation in a DevOps culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) with product teams.
• Build and maintain observability systems, including metrics, logs and tracing.
• Analyse failure scenarios, create runbooks and implement mitigations to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and lead incident response for high‑traffic, public‑facing services.
• Identify and eliminate non‑value‑adding work, promoting automation and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software, DevOps, QA or cloud engineering, with at least 2 years dedicated to Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven ability to lead, make decisions and coach development teams.
• Experience managing incidents in production environments of high‑value, 24/7 online services.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless services.
• Proficiency with monitoring and APM tools such as Datadog and New Relic.
• Programming and scripting abilities for automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of observability, SLIs/SLOs and runbook creation.
