Software Engineer – Digital Banking (Remote)

About the role

Join Emapta to build scalable digital banking experiences for a UK‑based licensed digital bank. You will work remotely, delivering end‑to‑end features using functional programming and modern cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of new features through a Continuous Delivery approach.
• Collaborate within an Agile cross‑functional team of Product Managers, Designers, and Developers.
• Champion SCRUM, Kanban, and Pair Programming methodologies.
• Own the entire product development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Develop backend microservices using Clojure.
• Build mobile applications with React Native and Redux.
• Use Kafka for asynchronous messaging.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Deploy services with Docker.
• Provision and deploy infrastructure with Terraform.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of software engineering or development experience.
• Ability to apply design patterns, recognize anti‑patterns, and follow best practices.
• Skill in breaking down medium‑complexity tasks, estimating effort, and adjusting plans.
• Proven track record of delivering against milestones and communicating progress.
• Capability to evaluate technical options, weigh trade‑offs, and involve stakeholders.
• Experience participating in system design discussions and architectural decisions.
