Specialist PLC Programmer

About the role

Gerresheimer is seeking a Specialist PLC Programmer to support its production plants worldwide. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical system integration, MES connectivity, and continuous improvement of automated processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement connections of new and existing assembly systems to the MES assembly cockpit.
• Develop, document, and follow up technical specifications for efficiency improvement projects involving PLC programming.
• Provide troubleshooting and support for production issues related to automated optical testing, including cameras and optical systems.
• Create specifications, work instructions, and feasibility studies for mechanical and electrotechnical systems.
• Lead or support innovation, CIP, and ratio projects on a global scale.
• Procure components for supervised work packages in coordination with purchasing and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain technical standards for PLC‑based mechanical and electrical systems.
• Prepare documentation for modifications, such as circuit diagrams and programming changes, and support qualification activities.

Required profile

• Secondary school degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, complemented by advanced training (e.g., industrial master craftsman, technician).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in PLC programming and automation within a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and experience with MES integration.
