Telecom Technician – Optical Infrastructure (Ref. 092026-012)

About the role

The company is expanding its team and seeks a motivated, technically‑oriented Telecom Technician to work on optical network installations and maintenance across all customer segments.

Key responsibilities

• Install telecom services via optical infrastructure, including ODC, ODB, fiber splicing (mechanical or fusion), and connection of fibers to splitters.
• Deploy secondary networks, internal cabling, and CPE equipment at customer sites.
• Re‑configure customer equipment to ensure service delivery.
• Perform work at heights of 2 m or more, inspecting and preparing network elements such as poles before installation.
• Use field operation software to record accurate data and follow safety and health procedures.
• Communicate professionally with customers, identify issues, and provide solutions.
• Maintain tools, inventory, and follow handling guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education or a vocational diploma (qualification IV/III).
• Practical experience with optical networks and infrastructure.
• Organised, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Adaptable to dynamic work conditions and capable of handling conflicts.
• Team‑oriented with good communication skills.
• Valid Category B driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Optical fiber splicing (mechanical and fusion).
• Installation of fiber optic splitters and CPE equipment.
• Working at heights safely.
• Use of field operation software for data entry.
