Director of Sourcing and LEAN

About the role

The Director of Sourcing and LEAN holds operational responsibility for the entire sourcing function of the company. Reporting to senior management, this leader drives purchasing strategy, supplier performance, and cost‑reduction initiatives across direct and indirect spend.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the sourcing organization structure, allocate resources across commodities, projects and NPR departments.
• Lead sourcing, supplier performance, make‑or‑buy and margin‑improvement committees.
• Ensure segregation of duties, set roles and responsibilities, and enforce governance processes.
• Develop and monitor local sourcing action plans, contributing to site KPIs such as sales, cash, EBIT and order intake.
• Manage commodity strategies for 80% of spend, negotiate contracts, and maintain a world‑class preferred‑supplier panel.
• Guarantee supplier delivery performance (OTD, PPM, claim recoveries) and optimize working capital with accounts payable.
• Support project execution by ensuring timely and on‑budget material supply.
• Participate in global purchasing budget preparation and benchmark against other plants.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large procurement teams in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management and lean principles.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cost‑reduction, margin improvement and working‑capital optimization.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience with make‑or‑buy decision processes.
• Track record of delivering results in line with site and corporate strategy.
