Fullstack Software Engineer (AI-Native) – Senior

About the role

Proton.ai is building an AI operating system for wholesale distribution and seeks a senior full‑stack engineer to own features from concept to production. The role is fully remote and places AI coding agents at the core of daily development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor and iterate end‑to‑end product features.
• Work across the full stack – frontend, backend, databases, integrations and infrastructure.
• Leverage AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode) as integral development tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers and occasionally customers.
• Design scalable APIs, schemas, queries and robust software solutions.
• Contribute to architecture, engineering practices and AI‑enhanced tooling.
• Visit customer sites when needed to understand workflows and technical environments.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, architecture, design patterns and system thinking.
• Proven ability to deliver production software and take ownership beyond coding tasks.
• Generalist full‑stack mindset with willingness to work across technologies.
• Fluent English communication and high level of autonomy.

Required skills

• Python (or willingness to adopt it).
• AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode.
• Frontend and backend development.
• Database design and query optimization.
• API design and implementation.
• Distributed systems and scalability concepts.
• Experience with ERP or complex third‑party integrations (a plus).
• Familiarity with SaaS or early‑stage startup environments (a plus).

What we offer

• Base salary between $80,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
