IT Engineer – Operations

About the role

Valtech is looking for an IT Engineer to take ownership of second‑line support and the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of its IT environment across Windows, macOS and Linux. You will work hands‑on with endpoint management, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, infrastructure and automation to ensure reliable and secure services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second‑line support, troubleshoot complex endpoint, OS, application, network and access issues and drive incidents to resolution.
• Manage the lifecycle of Windows and macOS devices, administer Active Directory/Entra ID and handle user accounts, permissions and authentication.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, including users, groups, licenses and collaboration tools.
• Support Windows and Linux servers, virtualization (VMware or Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP), working with specialist teams and vendors.
• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
• Apply security and least‑privilege principles, follow incident and change‑management processes and maintain clear documentation.
• Contribute to IT projects, system upgrades, migrations and new technology implementations.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in IT Operations, System Administration or a similar technical infrastructure role.
• Ability to investigate technical issues independently, prioritize incidents and work collaboratively with service‑desk colleagues and external vendors.
• Strong security mindset with understanding of access control and reliable IT operations.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, in an international environment.

Required skills

• Endpoint management for Windows and macOS (provisioning, configuration, patching, software deployment).
• Identity management with Active Directory and/or Entra ID.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell or similar.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, LAN, VPN).
• ITSM ticketing and incident/request/change management processes.
