Network Assurance Operations Specialist

About the role

PXC's Technology and Security Operations Centre (TSOC) is responsible for keeping customers' services and the network and applications running securely and reliably. Reporting to the Network Assurance Operations Technical Lead, you will join a team of network and security engineers working alongside another engineering team and four rotating shift teams. The role covers day-shift working days, with a late shift (12:00 - 20:00) on rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated tickets and requests from the 1st Line triage team.
• Design and implement live service changes according to customer requests, and act as an escalation point for Service Network Operations Engineers.
• Configure, administer and maintain network switches, routers and firewalls.
• Manage and resolve assurance faults affecting partners' voice and data services, and record faults with technical and non-technical explanations of impact, progress, actions and resolution.
• Keep stakeholders informed and drive suppliers and internal resolver groups back to service within agreed SLAs.
• Record service requests after root cause analysis, support service improvements and KPI targets, and help develop playbooks and knowledge transfer.
• Follow information security policies, authorise access to live managed equipment and to PXC and third-party data centres, and write accurate process documentation.
• Support engineers with training and attend team, departmental and company updates; contribute to daily fault calls and metric reports.
