Senior / Lead Project Manager - Software Delivery

About the role

Valtech is looking for a Senior or Lead Project Manager to join its delivery team on a long-term client engagement. You will run complex software delivery end to end, working with distributed, cross-functional teams across several countries. The role suits someone who combines strong technical understanding with excellent soft skills and owns outcomes rather than just processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and control scope, budget and timeline of software delivery projects.
• Act as the main point of contact for the client on day-to-day delivery and own the client relationship at project level.
• Negotiate scope, priorities and change requests with client stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies and technical issues early, working closely with tech leads.
• Allocate work and manage workload across the team, keeping a distributed team aligned and motivated.
• Run Agile ceremonies and continuously improve delivery processes.
• Provide regular reporting on status, risks and budget to the client and internal management.
• Give performance feedback to team members and contribute to their development; at Lead level, also mentor other PMs and contribute to delivery standards across the account.

Required profile

• 6+ years of project management experience in a software development environment, including at least 3 years in client-facing roles at a service company or agency.
• Proven ownership of scope, timeline and budget on medium to large projects, and experience managing several projects or workstreams at once.
• Experience leading distributed teams across countries and time zones, and with senior client contacts.
• Strong negotiation skills, calmness in escalations, and clear verbal and written communication.
• B2+ English, with confident spoken English for client calls.
• Nice to have: Delivery Manager experience, a technical background, domain experience, management data science project experience, AI tooling in delivery, and PM certifications (PMP, PSM, PRINCE2).

Required skills

• Agile/Scrum and hybrid delivery setups.
• Comfortable discussing architecture, integrations, APIs, environments and release processes with engineers.
• Jira and Confluence, and MS Office.
