Financial Controller

About the role

Quipu, the IT company of the ProCredit group, is looking for a Financial Controller to join its team in Skopje. The role takes full responsibility for a broad range of finance and controlling functions and calls for a hands-on professional with strong analytical skills who can implement and optimise financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all general financial controlling activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and process integrity.
• Perform detailed incoming invoice checks against contracts and purchase agreements, and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closings and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Supervise contract management and ensure financial compliance with contractual obligations.
• Provide timely, accurate and transparent internal financial reporting to the German HQ.
• Develop and improve financial controlling processes and internal controls, and design profitability analysis frameworks.
• Monitor cost control and budget discipline, and support budgeting and forecasting with group finance.
• Provide financial insights to management and support data-driven decisions.
• Work within and improve the company's ERP systems (DATEV preferred), support new finance tools and digitalisation, and collaborate with HR, legal, operations and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and financial reporting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling, ideally in an international and/or IT-focused company.
• Strong experience with invoice validation, contract compliance and month-end closing.
• Fluent English; knowledge of German is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced understanding of controlling, budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting.
• Hands-on ERP experience; DATEV is a significant plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently in an international team.
