Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. The role involves converting legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go or .NET applications on GCP, while advising clients on the business impact of the transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class applications onto Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop data architecture solutions using BigQuery and build analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the criticality of legacy systems and propose cloud‑based alternatives.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams in a fully GCP‑based environment.
• Apply AI engineering practices such as harness engineering and spec‑driven design.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, primarily with GCP.
• Proven track record in application modernization and migration to Java, Go or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture, BigQuery and data pipeline design.
• Experience delivering client‑facing consulting or professional services projects.
• Excellent English communication skills.
