L1 SOC Analyst

About the role

The L1 SOC Analyst will join Acora’s Security Operations Center to provide 24/7 monitoring of security alerts. This entry‑level position focuses on initial triage, documentation, and escalation of incidents while supporting senior analysts in maintaining a secure network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint detection tools and antivirus solutions.
• Perform initial triage, investigate basic indicators, and document findings.
• Identify false positives and correctly categorize alerts.
• Gather information on suspicious activity and assist with remediation tasks.
• Maintain accurate incident and alert records.
• Support L2/L3 analysts during investigations and handovers.
• Participate in shift rotations, on‑call duties, and SOC handovers.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of networking and security concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, malware, phishing).
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Exposure to security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Associate’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+).
