National Expert – Gender Equality Index Narrative Report (North Macedonia)

About the role

UN Women is seeking two national experts to support the development of the Gender Equality Index (GEI) in North Macedonia. The consultants will work closely with the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth and the State Statistical Office to produce a narrative report and a dashboard for the 2026 interim index and the full 2027 index.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a detailed work plan and schedule of consultative meetings with key stakeholders.
• Draft the first version of the 2026 GEI dashboard in Macedonian.
• Validate the draft dashboard with stakeholders and produce the final version.
• Prepare a bilingual (Macedonian and English) presentation summarising key findings and messages.
• Support the Ministry and Statistical Office in the preparation of the complete GEI for 2027.

Required profile

• Proven experience in gender‑equality measurement, index development or related research.
• Familiarity with the Macedonian statistical and policy environment.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both Macedonian and English.
