Payroll Administrator – US Focus (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Administrator with a strong focus on U.S. payroll to join a rapidly scaling, fully remote finance team. You will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for U.S. employees while supporting broader accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Import and maintain vendor bills, manage vendor records, and assist with COGS‑related invoices.
• Create and issue invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and support bad‑debt calculations.
• Support payroll processing for U.S. employees and international contractors, partnering with providers such as Gusto, Deel, or Justworks.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding, payroll‑impacting changes, and stay current on multi‑state payroll compliance.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, journal entries, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Follow existing SOPs, identify process gaps, and contribute to documentation improvements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with U.S. payroll processing and compliance.
• Familiarity with U.S. labor laws, tax regulations, and multi‑state payroll considerations.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and collaborate with operations and external providers.
