Senior Fullstack Engineer (AI‑Native) – Remote

About the role

Proton.ai is building an AI operating system for wholesale distribution and is looking for senior full‑stack engineers who thrive in an AI‑native environment. You will own features from concept to production, work across the entire stack, and leverage AI coding agents daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor and iterate on end‑to‑end features.
• Work across frontend, backend, databases, integrations and infrastructure.
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, etc.) as a core part of development.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers and occasionally customers.
• Design scalable APIs, schemas, queries and software solutions.
• Contribute to architecture, engineering practices, tooling and AI‑enhanced workflows.
• Visit customer sites when needed to understand workflows.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Daily hands‑on use of AI development tools.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, architecture, design patterns, databases and system thinking.
• Proven track record delivering production software and taking ownership beyond coding.
• Generalist full‑stack mindset with willingness to work across technologies.
• Ability to evaluate and validate AI‑generated code.
• Fluent English communication, high ownership and autonomy.
• Willingness to learn Python if needed.

Required skills

• Python (or willingness to adopt).
• AI coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode.
• Full‑stack development (frontend, backend, databases, integrations, infrastructure).
• API design and implementation.
• Database design and distributed systems knowledge.
• ERP or complex third‑party integration experience (plus).
• Agentic product development, prompt/context engineering (plus).
