Title Release Specialist

About the role

The Title Release Specialist ensures that vehicle titles are released promptly and accurately when a loan is paid off or refinanced. This position works closely with third‑party title companies, dealerships, lienholders, and internal loan servicing teams to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage title release requests for paid‑off vehicle loans in line with company policies and state laws.
• Review and verify loan payoff details, confirming that all balances and fees are settled before initiating title release.
• Coordinate with title companies, dealerships, and lienholders to facilitate timely title transfers.
• Prepare and submit lien release forms and other required documentation to customers, lienholders, and DMV.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all title releases for audit and regulatory review.
• Respond to customer inquiries about title release, providing clear instructions and support.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in title documentation, ensuring timely resolution.
• Communicate with loan servicing and funding teams to confirm payoff status before releasing titles.
• Track title release status and follow up on delayed or outstanding releases.
• Assist in preparing reports on title release volume, turnaround times, and issues.

Required profile

• Ability to verify loan payoff details and ensure all balances are cleared.
• Capability to coordinate with third‑party title companies, dealerships, and lienholders.
• Knowledge of state‑specific title and lien release regulations.
