Intern – Digital Transformation, Emerging Technologies and Data Governance

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in North Macedonia is looking for a motivated intern to support digital transformation, emerging technologies and data governance initiatives across the UN Country Team. Working under the Data Specialist, you will contribute to evidence‑based decision‑making and capacity‑building efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing digital transformation initiatives and monitor global trends in digitalisation and AI.
• Research AI governance, digital inclusion, digital rights and responsible technology use, and prepare policy briefs and analytical notes.
• Support stakeholder engagement with government, academia, private sector, civil society and development partners, including coordination of consultations and meetings.
• Help organise workshops, roundtables and policy dialogues on AI and emerging technologies.
• Contribute to data governance activities: data quality assurance, documentation, metadata management and knowledge‑management processes.
• Support data collection, cleaning, analysis and interpretation, and assist with results monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic student or recent graduate with a strong interest in digital transformation, emerging technologies and data governance.
• Ability to work under supervision, manage multiple tasks and produce clear written outputs.
