Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Google Cloud Platform Architect to join BairesDev’s AI‑driven mainframe modernization practice. You will help transform legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications running on GCP, while advising clients on the business value of these migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the re‑design of legacy and mainframe‑class applications for deployment on Google Cloud.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the criticality of legacy systems and the benefits of modernization.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams in a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization of legacy or mainframe systems using Java, Go, or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional‑services experience with client‑facing project delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
