Accountant - Central Finance (Hybrid)

About the role

Norstat, a European data collection and market research company, is hiring an Accountant for its Central Finance team in Skopje, North Macedonia. The position is hybrid and suits a junior to mid-level accountant who wants to build experience in an international finance environment. You will work closely with colleagues across several Norstat entities and countries, with onboarding support to learn the processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer invoices and handle vendor invoices and Accounts Payable.
• Perform bookkeeping and general ledger postings, post bank transactions and run bank reconciliations.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on Accounts Receivable and collection activities.
• Add and maintain customer and vendor information, including credit checks.
• Manage and respond to requests received through the Group Finance inbox.
• Support several Norstat legal entities and countries within the Central Finance team.

Required profile

• Junior to mid-level profile, ideally around 1-3 years of relevant experience; strong newly graduated candidates are also welcome.
• Education in accounting, finance or economics.
• Previous experience with an accounting or ERP system is required.
• Good written and spoken English; accurate, reliable, organised and service-minded.
• Comfortable working in an international and remote finance team and taking ownership of tasks.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with invoicing, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping and/or bank reconciliations is an advantage.
• Basic to good working knowledge of Excel.
