Carrier Sales Representative

About the role

ModelKite is seeking a proactive Carrier Sales Representative to join our remote team. You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with carriers, ensuring capacity for shipments, and driving revenue through uncapped commissions.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect new carriers via lead generation, research and cold calling.
• Manage shipment capacity by negotiating rates and matching loads to carrier capabilities.
• Post loads on various load boards and monitor load status.
• Maintain and nurture existing carrier relationships, understanding their needs and identifying growth opportunities.
• Uphold high‑quality service standards across all tasks to ensure exceptional delivery outcomes.
• Identify and resolve freight‑related operational issues.
• Collaborate internally on freight rates, market trends, pricing strategy and account implementation plans.
• Stay informed on shipping lanes, geography and seasonal market dynamics.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in dispatching or transportation/logistics within North America (US or Canada).
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
• Experience using load boards such as DAT or Truckstop.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong organization, negotiation and decision‑making abilities.
• Creative problem‑solving skills and capacity to handle stressful situations.
