Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Dojran Steel, a leading steel producer in Southeast Europe, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for its plant in Nikolic, North Macedonia. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will lead the design, development, and optimisation of mechanical systems and production processes within a dynamic industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and optimise mechanical systems and production lines.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings and engineering projects.
• Monitor, analyse and improve performance of production equipment, cranes and material‑handling systems.
• Participate in investment projects, equipment modernisation, selection, installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Coordinate activities with Production, Maintenance, Procurement and Health & Safety departments.
• Monitor energy efficiency and propose improvement measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant or industrial production environment.
• Fluency in Macedonian and English with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
