Senior Finance Controller – Tax & Accounting

About the role

Grant Thornton North Macedonia is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Controller to join its Tax & Accounting team in Skopje. You will manage accounting operations for a portfolio of clients, ensure compliance with local regulations, and provide tax and accounting advisory support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations for assigned clients, including GL postings, month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Prepare and review financial statements and ensure compliance with Macedonian accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Review invoices, journals, accruals and other documentation, and communicate directly with clients.
• Mentor junior team members and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in controlling, accounting or tax.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent English communication skills.
• Integrity, responsibility and a client‑service orientation.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Macedonian accounting standards, IFRS and local tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel.
