Accounts Receivable & Payable Accountant

About the role

An international TravelTech company building digital products for the travel industry is expanding its Finance team and is looking for an Accounts Receivable & Payable Accountant. This is a fully remote, hands-on accounting role focused on AR, AP, bank transactions, reconciliations and month-end closing support, working closely with the Accounting Manager and international teams. Working hours are within +/-3 hours of Central European Time.

Key responsibilities

• Own day-to-day AR and AP processes, matching customer payments to invoices and processing supplier invoices accurately and on time
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, reconcile AR/AP balances and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounting records and GL postings, and support monthly closing
• Flag unusual transactions for review and communicate with customers and suppliers about payments and outstanding balances
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, internal teams and external partners to resolve payment and reconciliation issues
• Keep supporting documentation and help streamline accounting processes

Required profile

• Proven experience in full-cycle AR/AP accounting and strong practical experience with bank and account reconciliations
• Understanding of accounting principles and experience with receipts, supplier invoices, payments and GL entries
• Experience supporting month-end closing and working in a fully remote environment
• Ability to work with international and distributed teams and professional English
• Advantage: previous experience with Odoo, other ERPs, high-volume transactions, international payments, and improving AR/AP documentation

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookups
• Quick learning of new ERP and accounting systems
• Attention to detail and independent investigation of discrepancies
