Legal & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Legal & Compliance Officer will ensure MaxBet’s operations in North Macedonia comply with all relevant laws, licence conditions, regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role provides legal support across the business, manages regulator relationships and advises senior management on legal, compliance, governance and risk matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial contracts, maintaining records and monitoring obligations.
• Provide practical legal advice on corporate governance, transactions, employment, intellectual property, disputes and regulatory matters.
• Act as the primary liaison with external counsel, coordinating support and managing legal budgets.
• Monitor and interpret gambling, AML/CFT, consumer protection, advertising, data protection and other regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Lead implementation of new regulatory requirements, coordinate inspections and audits, and maintain compliance policies and risk assessments.
• Review marketing activities, support responsible gambling, KYC and due‑diligence processes, and manage regulator relationships.
• Support data protection compliance, including GDPR‑equivalent policies, processing records, impact assessments and awareness initiatives.
• Coordinate responses to privacy requests, data subject rights, complaints and other regulatory obligations.
• Manage legal proceedings and disputes, overseeing case administration, deadlines and documentation.
• Prepare legal and compliance reports, deliver training, and ensure timely escalation of material risks.
