Software Engineer – Machine Learning Focus

About the role

You will develop, test, and maintain software components for mobile messaging security solutions, primarily using Go, while gradually expanding into Machine Learning. The position is full‑time and based in Skopje with a hybrid work setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and modernise Go‑based components and maintain existing Perl systems.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees and related tools.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot production issues and enhance reliability.
• Gradually take ownership of Machine Learning tasks, including model evaluation, regression testing, and deployment automation.
• Build automated frameworks to monitor model accuracy and performance degradation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid software development background demonstrated through professional work, internships, personal projects or open‑source contributions.
• Proficiency with Linux and Git, strong problem‑solving abilities and willingness to debug unfamiliar codebases.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours on at least two days per week to align with US West Coast collaborators (available until 12:00 noon PT).

Required skills

• Go (primary language) and experience with C, C++, Java or Rust.
• Perl for legacy systems.
• Python and Jupyter notebooks for Machine Learning work.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, CloudBees, GitLab CI.
• Machine Learning fundamentals, model training, evaluation and monitoring.
• Linux, Git, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Splunk (nice‑to‑have).
